Itinerary

Day One
Fly to Italy, meet our Tour Manager in the airport and transfer to Fiuggi, your base for the next three nights.

Day Two
Today we'll visit Rome, one of the world's most breathtaking cities. Explore at your leisure or join our optional guided city tour, which will include such highlights as Capitoline Hill, the Colosseum and Forum, the famous Piazza Navona, and the Fontana di Trevi, into which many a trio of coins has been thrown.

Day Three
Today brings a chance to rest and relax in the surroundings of the hotel, or perhaps to explore locally. Alternatively, join our excursion to fabled hilltop Tivoli and explore its sumptuous Renaissance villas and cooling landscaped gardens – complete with plunging waterfalls ornate water features and fountains.

Day Four
Leaving Fiuggi this morning, you'll journey south, towards the blue Bay of Naples, and stopping en route beneath the brooding cone of Vesuvius. Wander the haunting ruins of Roman Pompeii, destroyed – yet miraculously 'preserved' – by the eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. After a fascinating few hours, we'll continue to the Amalfi Coast and the delightful resort of Maoiri, your base for the next four nights.

Day Five
Spend today relaxing and enjoy the hotel's facilities or take the shuttle bus to the beach, or join today's optional excursion along the world-famous Amalfi Drive. Admire the spellbinding views as you wind your way along this scenic road before visiting exquisite Sorrento, set above the blue waters. Don't miss the town's colourful ports or bustling Piazza Tasso, the focal point of Sorrentine life.

Day Six
Today's optional excursion is to the beautiful Isle of Capri. Enjoy a stunning cruise by steamer from Amalfi's pier, past tiny Positano, to Capri's bustling harbour of Marina Grande. Highlights of the island include the picturesque village of Anacapri on the slopes of Mount Solare, famous Villa San Michele, with its breathtaking views, and the main town of Capri.

Day Seven
The last full day of the holiday can be spent at leisure, enjoying the hotel or perhaps making the short trip into nearby beautiful Amalfi, a wonderful port-town where the houses rise up the hillsides and the main square is dominated by the beautiful, lovingly restored facade of the cathedral.

Day Eight
Make the scenic journey back to the airport for the return flight, at the end of a wonderful Italian holiday.
